Last year the National Day was spent with the Alex. Was a great one. Watched live concert, stayed over and ended up in Putrajaya with the Floria. Somehow, this year he went back to his hometown and I'm left in the hostel with the other coursemates who didn't leave for home on Friday.
I spent the whole day of the 30th of August surfing and chatting online. I woke up late, yes, because we reached the hostel from Putrajaya the day before around 3-ish. Didn't touched a single book or read anything medicine today. I felt guilty really.
So around 10-ish, I asked if KK wanted to go to the A&E (Accident and Emergency), so we did. We saw an acute coronary syndrome case, but that was all. So around 12-ish, we headed out for supper. On our way back, we were caught in the jam. Stupid policemen were doing roadblocks, supposed to check out for Mat Rempits or something.
We rushed back to the hospital. Thing was, we saw 5 ambulances driving in super speed while we were having our supper. We got excited and thought whoa, there must be some heavy accidents the casualties had their bones poking out of their body or something. It wasn't a good thought. It wasn't even ethical. It was pretty much cruel and heartless. But hey, Christina Yang got euphoric when there was a pile-up or a catastrophe or something.
I'm not saying that I want to become like her. I don't think I'm a surgical guy. I skewed towards medicine. But A&E was pretty exciting. Of course the one we had here was totally not comparable to Grey's Anatomy or ER for that matter. So yeah, our A&E wasn't flooded with blood from car accidents casualties.
Pretty much boring. Just some minor injuries of a drunkard. And that's all. Bleh.
What an uneventful countdown to the 51st National Day.
