It was in the medical school library during the study week. Or a few weeks before that. I couldn't remember when.
I was spending long hours in the library cramping on the notes and what not trying my hard sorry ass so that I can pass my exam. Yes, even with the fear that I might fail straight out, I was still itchy to get online. I was, still am, an internet addict. Plus, I was waiting for a reply e-mail from the hotel in Siem Reap, something about changing from a single room to a triple room. Yea, it was that long ago.
So there he was, coming into the computer room. Not exactly the guy I would want to be with even if I'm a female of late 40s and still not married. He's not handsome, he's not well-built, he's shorter than me, and he's got this unfriendly aura. Late 30s or early 40s. Never really paid him any attention. Just... He's the regular guy you see everyday. I never talked to him, never smiled to him, never even say hi or whatsoever. I mind my own business and I don't care what he does. Until...
He sat quite far from me, across the room. He was looking around, not exactly sure what was he looking at. He sat on the edge of his chair, you know, how a person sits when he's so very interested in something across the table. He logged onto a website, greyish layout, some pictures beneath, not sure what the pictures were of, as I was too far to see what they actually were. He clicked on pannels on the left, or right, or well, I'm just not so sure. And there was a pop-up. A smaller window, some thumbnails beneath some descriptions. Not exactly like friendster or facebook. But I know it's a profile or some sort. He clicked onto the thumbnail pictures I'm sure, as larger photos appeared. It was a man, well clothed. That's all I saw.
The man looked around timidly. No one paid him any attention. Of course I was pretending to look into my own screen. I'm a stalker for all that matter! He clicked on some more pictures. The face, a full body portrait, and finally on a different page in the same smaller window. He must've clicked on something apparently, the layout were different. He looked around again. He was nervous. He pretended to tap his lap.
Then he turned to look at his screen. A new picture popped up. It's brownish, black background. Looked like some... wait a minute... It's a body. Yeaps. The well defined pectoralis major. That's all I could see from afar. Then the picture changed. It was now a smaller picture. Clearly still, a man standing with his hands over his crotch area. Hah. Porn in the library? And finally, the picture changed to a sideview of a naked body. Headless. Gluteus maximus was obvious, didn't see the rod though.
He closed the pop-up window quickly. Turned around again. And carried on with some more clickings. And he closed everything, and walked out.
I just smiled. At myself. No wonder he's still single. Just a ring on the last little finger. A closet case eh?
I didn't go hoohah to my coursemates of course. It's his personal life, so be it. Instead, I'm blogging it out! *lough out loud* Okay, seriously, I'm just blogging it out, anonymously. Not like you know him or anything. Even those in the medical school wouldn't know who he is, unless I point him out.
So yea, if YOU *hinting the man himself* are reading this, your secret's safe with me.
For all you know, there're more closet cases in the school than you can think of.
