That Lip Craters

You call it the aphtous stomatitis. But normally people just call it mouth ulcer. When we were taught about it in the gastrointestinal block earlier, the lecturer said, of the 200 of you in here, I'm sure there is at least one having this at this moment. True enough, I think I've got aphtous stomatitis a lot too.

Medically speaking, the ulcer is self limiting, resolves in a few weeks, but not longer than a month. *sniggering* If ever it's more than a month, I can imagine myself shedding those fats already. Apparently, the causes of this ulcer, also known as Canker Sores, varies from inflammatory bowel disease or immunological aetiology, to stress and fever, but most of the time, it's of uncertain cause.

So I've got mine on my lower lips. Pretty obvious that I could show it as long as I pout my lips out. And yeap, I did that a lot as it's just plain painful when they're rubbing against the gums and teeth, or the upper lips for that matter.

Anyway, I was checking it on the mirror last night, and I thought I saw the ulcers healing. It's been over a week. Should be about time that I could take fried stuff already. *sniggering* The ulcers grew bigger a few days before, seemed like even joining up and form the biggest ulcer ever. But they didn't.

So there's this one located deeper inside, it has got a small red dot in the middle of the 'crater'. Or erm, to use crater would be wrong, since it's not really concaved, but it looks like it, so doesn't mater. *LOL* Anyway, yeaps, back to the red dot, I thought it's showing some healing signs or something. Was relatively happy about it then.

Halfway through the night, when I was bored of the notes, I checked on the ulcer again. Hallelujah, I saw it bleeding. Gasps! I didn't even bit it! Fresh blood oozing out, forming a convexed hemisphere of red shiny blood under the fluoroscent light.

Ugh.

Took a tissue and dried those blood out. The red dot is visible again. And I tasted blood soon after. Wondered if I'd turn into a vampire. *sniggering*

Ugh. Ugh.

I just hate it. The aphtous stomatitis. The Canker Sores. The mouth ulcer. Whatever.

And it's hard to kiss. *sniggering* I mean, it would be hard to. No?

Kissing will be on hold la until it heals.

Salt it, Oral Aid it, Kenalog it, wintermelon it, whatever it takes. We prefer salt and Oral Aid.
