There were all the news about strikes in town. Starting with the march with everyone wearing yellow, then there's all the guys of one particular race who clogged up the city and caused Ampang Park and KLCC LRT station to be temporarily closed down. Apparently, the medies must've realized that this method would really stir up their daily lives and decided to have it carried out in the faculty today. But no, I didn't know the plan until today...
KW has been the one waking me up every morning. But since he went back yesterday, and I so did not set my alarm clock, I woke up at 7.20am this morning. *WTF?!* Class would be starting at 8am, and I so need to get ready! It was darn cold, so I didn't take my shower, just wet the hair and cleaned the face. YL was still fast asleep... It was misty outside alright, not really raining, just misty and darn cold. I woke YL up, telling him we've only got 20 minutes to get to class. I knocked on KK's door, and pushing him to be quick. But apparently, after so many knockings, I just found out they were awakened only by my knockings. *WTF?!*
Anyways, IS came to ask me if I drive today. Well, usually, I don't really drive to school, heavy jam at the hospital entrance, and parking way down the hill, no thanks, I would rather walk than to drive. But out of pity, I gave IS a drive as KK and CH decided to skip class. With 2 housemies on the idea of skipping the first lecture, YL decided to get a little more sleep too. *WTF?!* Anyways, I would expect to be slowed down by all the cars jammed up at the hospital, and would be late to enter class leading to all the attention on me that I was wearing the old turtle neck that I drew out form the bottom of my folded stack of clothes. But, it turned out the traffic was very smooth, even managed to get a space at the clinical students' hostel car park, which on normal days would be full to the brim.
I walked towards the lecture hall, and reached the building 5 minutes to 8am. I was darn super-fast. However, to my dismay, this is what I found...
Of 200 students, only 10 were waiting outside the lecture hall. The lecture hall was dark. Light bulbs burnt out it seemed. (the photo showed the lights were already on... I didn't manage to capture piccie before the lights came alive)
Me: What the heck?! Where is everybody?
LX: Everyone decided to go on strike and skip today's class.
I really thought that happened, since it really did seemed like most of those medies planned to go back to their hometown this weekend. But as the clock stroke 8, and the technician managed to magically light up the hall, we finally walked into the hall feeling cheated. *WTF?!* How can everyone go on strike without informing ME!
Anyways, we just decided to stay in the lecture hall, and see what the reactions of the lecturers would be like. We would be having a debriefing for the Community Family Case Studies (CFCS) module, followed by a clinical lecture on abdominal surface anatomy at 9, and finally a nutrition practical at 10.15am. I was imagining...
Lecturer: What happened to the rest of the class?
Us: They go on strike..
Lecturer: Seriously? Maybe I'll reschedule our class then..
Us: NO! It's unfair! We few made the initiative to come here on such a good weather to remain in bed, so Mister, you better deliver whatever you're supposed to teach us!
*LMAO*
As we waited and waited, as the time passes by, and as it was approaching 9am, we finally found out the debriefing was actually postponed. Blame the notice outside the hall stating the "CFCS Debriefing by Prof Chris on 5th Dec will be postponed to further date...", when the debriefing was actually on the 7th Dec. *Fook!* And we knew, clinical lecture would most prolly be rescheduled as well. So dang it, we just found out we wasted the 2 hours when we really really could've stayed in bed. Apparently though, KK, YL and CH came somehwhere around 9am, and found out that 80% of the seats in the lecture hall was unoccupied.
KK, YL, CH: *grumble grumble grumble*
Me: How do I know?! I was here even earlier okeh!
KK, YL, CH: *grumble grumble grumble*
Me: Okay okay, I didn't know! Or I would still be in bed as well...
KK, YL, CH: *grumble grumble grumble*
We were wondering how Prof Moi would react when she found out about the class going on strike. The practical was supposedly only to start in the afternoon, around 2.30pm, but 2 days ago, she rescheduled and asked to have the class in the morning, so that whoever wanted to leave for hometown could go after class. Just recently knowing that she's actually married with 2 kids, we were really surprised how she could stay so young! And with that look, we really couldn't imagine how berserk she could go knowing her class didn't take her lessons seriously.
Prof Moi: What the...
Us: Fark is happeneing? Yeap everyone decided to go on strike...
Prof Moi: What the....
Us: Fark are you seeing? Yeap, only less than 20 students are present..
Prof Moi: What the...
Us: Fark are you going to do now? Just carry on with the practical...
Prof Moi: What the...
Us: Just carry on with the practical dammit!
So yeap. It was a tad real good experience alright. If the dean's office decided to take actions on those who joined the strike, wonder if Uncle Lim would start criticising local uni standard at the Parliament again. Heck it really was a stirrrrrr... with such a good smell too. The other batches or classes better don't follow what we did, I mean THEY did, although it really did sound FUN!
*LMAO*
