One of the female housemates, were submitted to hospital last Thursday.
Initial suspect were due to allergic reaction to the Rubella vaccination.
The following day, she complaint of chest pain. She waited at the General Outpatient clinic for hours before being hurriedly sent to A&E for prime suspect of pneumothorax case. A&E did X-Ray and it showed a clear lungs, but secondary diagnosis showed suspicion of pneumonia.
Over the weekend, her condition didn't go any better. Somehow she finds it hard to breath. This morning she went back to UH and another X-Ray was done. She was admitted to the Resuscitation Hall immediately. Her X-Ray clearly showed pleural effusion and a lack of perfusion at the apex of her right lung. YL couldn't concentrate in lectures and everyone in the house were worried.
After labs, we decided to visit her again at the A&E. Although it's most likely we wouldn't be allowed into the ward, at least we made an effort to find out how she's doing. Doctor inserted a catheter to draw out the fluid. And she claimed she felt easier to breath already.
Coursemates are visiting her in batches. Even the ones we thought weren't close to us. But still, it was an effort everyone made to know how's her progress. So much so that we're still of the same batch, we came in together, we would graduate together.
God blesses her and may she gets well soon.
ps: I know this is the least of the "Cute Housemate" series, it's a serious case, but somehow, she's still my housemate.
