Rainbow after the Rain...

Not nearly literally, but somehow it seems like it.

The orientation's coming to an end tomorrow night. We'll have this ceremony where the juniors will go on stage and deciple all the names of their buddies and seniors coming up to shake hand with them and accept them as the new little buddy... Old-fashioned, I know, but it seems like that's how this whole thing should end, I mean, well, at least let the 1st years have something that would be like the award-giving ceremony or something, only that their awards will be seniors and some books passed down the line, and that everyone in the batch are award winners. LOL

Everything was pretty out of hand early this morning. I mean... really out of hand. My final year buddy somehow got into a major catfight with all the Sarawakian final years. He even asked me not to accept anyone from Sarawak this year. I was like, shocked. And disappointed. I mean, how the Sarawakian seniors treat me and all, not exactly me, I mean, how they all ended up ugly fighting over one junior. But somehow... Phew... I gotta say, it's all nicely settled. My buddy got fed up with this orientation and new buddy thing that in the end, he let me be. I resolved in drawlots with another compatriot hailed from the same city over this English educated DOTArian, since he's pretty much my direct buddy's preference if I were to take a Sarawakian. Ah well, I have no idea what got in the way, perhaps being blur and all does have some nice outcome, just how there's always a beautiful rainbow after the rain...

With tolerence, this fight over juniors issue is all over, for me at least. (YL was furious that he is now in the same state I was before, when he thought we could be in this together, yet I finished the race pretty nicely... Sorry sweetie!) The Sarawakian final years agreed I am actually in a Sarawakian line, even though mine's not as "pure" as the Methodist Sibu's line. I mean well, that line isn't that pure as well since they've got one from Bintulu "incorporated" in them... And the rest were not any better although they do have more Sarawakians in their line at the moment compared to mine. But they still considered mine pretty "strong" (as they put it), since I have 2 buddies graduating this year from Kuching, and the one above them hail from Sarawak as well...

So there you go, I'm still "one of them". I guess I should take back what I said when I told my furious buddy early this morning when I made a reamark "I'm never treated like I'm one of the bunch, I think." Aaah... this is a wonderful day... I've been extremely nice to KarYee from Selangor (who was my direct buddy's school junior), as well as this other Thai guy from Perlis. I've met TzYng, my final year buddy's choice. We're taking her although I did hear some erm...remarks about her. But she seems nice to me.... And not really that "kampung" girl. Heck, she even lived in KL until she was 7. LOL... It's worth mentioning really, that I'm extremely nice towards the junior today, considering it's still orientation, and "orientation" is supposed to be like...

"you haven't approach me and yet you approach the other seniors?"
"so you're from Kelantan and you don't need to know me?"
"how can you not know me!? I'm from your state!!!"
"cocky already LAH! don't need to greet me is it?"

you know.. that sort of thing... where all the seniors would be REALLY serious and not friendly with the 1st year and they were to greet us with this greetings I'm not sure I should be putting this up here...

"good morning/afternoon/evening to the most honorable senior BI BO KAO gentleman sir/ lady ma'am, I am the most humble freshie KO KI KU from SMK Banana Busuk, (state)"

Not only that, you really got to listen to me when I tell you how the juniors were to greet before they were officially accepted into a particular line... tomorrow..

Yea, well, I'll be taking 2 buddies into my line this year. Pretty much how me and my direct buddy wanted... I mean, well, yea... I pitied her we didn't get the DOTArian, but I guess this other one would be okay... and most importantly, I won't be the only GUY in the line after my final year buddy graduate next year. :-)

So with everything settled, I supposed I can really start on my studies now... I read some notes last night. I realized I wasn't that far left out anyway... I still can catch up if I run fast enough. LOL

And we had this really fun Parasitology practical this afternoon. Dr. Tan was well... erm... he sort of freaked me a bit when he "looked at me even when he's explaining some stuff to all of us". I mean, seriously. I haven't had such an "attention" before. I was asked to be the first to do this direct smear of yet another stool practical, in the sense that I'm doing this demo under his guidance, and well... a lot other small stuffs not worth mentioning, not to you anyway... I wonder if he recognize me from my blog or something... LOL

As how my mum always put it, there's always some sufferings before finally the tastes of success (or in my case, the lifting off of this heavy burden in my heart)....
